The Northern Marianas flag bears a white star over a blue backdrop. The Marshall Islands and Nauru have a lot of similarities with the flag of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Just beneath the star, the flag depicts a latte stone, which serves as the cornerstone of a Chamorro home.
The wreath, which was added to the Northern Marianas’ flag in 1981, has come to symbolize the connection between the group of islands and their history.
